Just a 2 hour 30 minute flight from the UK, you can jump on a plane to Madrid from a number of regional airports including Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, and of course, London Gatwick, Stansted and Heathrow. Once you've arrived, the Metro runs from Barajas Airport in the north east, to heart of the city every and is the easiest and affordable way to get into the centre. The line runs from 6am until 2am with the journey taking only 12 minutes. A single journey is around €5 each way.
Once in the city, the Metro is a great way to get around. You can buy a Multi Card which can be topped up. Ticket types including single tickets, multi-journey and tourist tickets.
