Getting to, from and around Las Vegas

The flight time to Las Vegas is approx. 10 hours, served by a direct flight from London Heathrow airport with two airlines, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. You can also pick up a connecting flight with the likes of United Airlines and Delta Airlines allowing you to fly from local airports like Edinburgh and Manchester via other US cities.

The airport is just a few minutes away from Las Vegas Boulevard so a cab is a great option to get to your hotel.

Getting Around

The main sites of Las Vegas are relatively close together so walking, especially in the cooler months, is ideal for exploring. Otherwise a bus runs up and down the strip stopping along at the main hotels and you'll want to jump on the bus or in a taxi if you're travelling between the Strip and Downtown. There is a monorail which runs from MGM Station all the way up to the SAHARA hotel which can be useful in the hot summer months.

Car hire isn't a popular option, unless you're planning on exploring or doing a road trip. If you want to head out the Mojave Desert or Grand Canyon, organised tours and excursions can be a more suitable way to do this. The drive can be lengthy and it can be useful to have the commentary of an expert too.
